Kamala sits between Patong and Bang Tao on the west coast — smaller and considerably quieter than either.
What it's like
A long, relatively uncrowded beach backed by a low-rise town, popular with families and long-stay visitors who want proximity to Patong's amenities without its noise.

Kamala is also home to one of Phuket's largest event venues, hosting a well-known cultural show with elaborate stage production (see our cultural shows guide), alongside a cluster of beach clubs at the northern end of the bay near Laem Singh.
Who it suits
A good middle ground for travellers who want to be near Patong's restaurants and nightlife without staying inside the noise itself — considerably calmer at night than Patong while still a short drive from it.
Getting there
A short 15–20 minute drive north of Patong along the coast road, or a slightly longer trip south from Bang Tao and Surin.
